Lowcountry Womens Fiction Author: The Most Fun Writing Genre

By Debra Nelson

People often think that all writers are introverted book nerds; that is not always the case. In fact, some famous award-winning writers like Ben Groundwater and Catherine Marshall have each traveled to over 80 countries in their lives. They are extroverted and love writing, so they combined these two characteristics to excel in outdoor writing. Also, Lowcountry womens fiction author earn good money by writing about its living experiences observing the world.

The writers normally take trips to places where they can get involved in outdoor activities like kayaking, scuba diving, fishing, camping, bicycling, hiking and many other more. Then they either write articles or books about how their trip was and what they did and saw when they were there. The articles are then sold to newspapers, holiday websites, and outdoor trade magazines.

These articles may cover topics involving what makes a particular holiday destination fun, how to get there, how much it will cost and the type of equipment available. Some are used to advertise an area, they give detailed descriptions of the activities on the site. Alternatively, the experience may be used to write reviews about a recreational area.

One advantage of this writing genre is that once an article is written, the same information can be sold to several people at a time. However, the writer should make it meet the individual needs of each buyer while making each article unique. One way of achieving this is to make rewrites of one article, use different pictures and follow the guidelines of the buyer while rewriting the article. So, with one trip, several articles can be written and sold to different people.

This writing genre can be stressful at times, it is not just about going to fancy hotels and adventurous trips to write an article. You ll have to be both a writer and a financial planner. Sometimes you ll be paid less than what you spent during your travel. Now, that in business terms is called a loss. So you may be forced to go on a traveling budget sometimes, taking long uncomfortable flights to your destination instead of flying first class.

Although some travel writers say they have time to have fun during their visits, a majority say they are at work most of the time and don t find the trips as fun as a casual visitor finds them. They always have to be on the lookout for extraordinary things or some things they find can make their articles and books interesting. They take pictures of the area and write notes almost all the time they are there.

Outdoor writing is not about writing about traveling experiences only; it involves any form of writing that covers outdoor activities. Some writers write about their backyard gardens, their farms, local weather, and their local geological settings. They don t take trips, they just go outside of their houses, observe their surroundings and start to write.

People who are good with words and love traveling or observing the outside world can be travel writers.
