Christianity is a religion that preaches love. It is surprising to so many how Jesus Christ gave the instruction that Christians should love one another and pray for those that persecute them. This is not possible in so many other religions in which paying back good for good and evil for evil reigns supreme. Because of this Biblical injunction to love, one cannot possibly consider fighting when thinking of how to defend the Christian faith.
To defend the Christian faith means to do anything that can make people believe more in God. It requires one's total efforts and consciousness as one has to live a life that is consistent with what is said. People around are always watching to know if the person is going to falter at any point and if that happens, they think that the Christian faith once professed with zeal is nothing but a joke.
Anytime one temptation or the other comes your way, it should be a time to reflect on Jesus and rely on his grace. Someone near you may have set you up and is watching earnestly to know your response. You will be happy in the end as the Holy Spirit helps you overcome. This will also make the person Satan used to feel more ashamed.
Falling into temptation is not uncommon especially when the circumstances are grave. However, this can be prevented by getting closer to The Lord. Some of the ways to do this include reading the Bible always, praying without ceasing and depending totally on God in times of trouble. If what is written in James 4:8a is taken seriously, defending Christianity would be easier.
Reading the Bible everytime is good and anyone who has the Christian faith should not joke with doing so every morning. This is the most comfortable period to have one's quiet time since everywhere is still calm and the Christian can focus more on God when he has not stepped out for work or other endeavors. Getting to know God early in the morning before any other thing grants him access to his fullness and knowledge. The Christian is further directed on what to do throughout the day.
You should not joke with prayers. It is by praying that Christians relate with God and he replies back to them. Prayers also help to get God's healing power. If it is for a sickness that caught everyone's attention, they will become amazed and interested in following your God when they see that it is no longer there.
Spreading the gospel is an important step to take if you want to defend Christianity. Without preaching, nobody will understand why you do certain things. Defending the faith in this sense includes participating in early morning cries, visiting public places such as students' hostels and sharing tracts.
The aim of doing all these is to bring more people to repentance. If people fail to incline to God, they are in danger of losing their soul to eternal damnation when they die. Christians know this so they try every possible method to make sure that as many as possible within their environment are saved.
