The Best Self Esteem Books For Boys

By Rosella Campbell

Males who are in their teenage years are known to really experience bouts of insecurity because they are in the process of trying to find out who they really are. In the process, many develop some insecurities and esteem problems because they are expected to be real men at this age even if they do not know how. Of course it is because of this problem that so many self esteem books for boys in their teenage years were actually written.

Now the book named Developing Emotional Literacy with Teenage Boys is definitely one of the best books targeted to males who are in this age. This book was written by one of the most famous inspirational authors whose name is Tina Rae. This book aims to take a closer look into the heads of young men at this age.

Now the main context of this piece of work is to simply try to shape up the mind of the readers to make them emotionally stronger and stable. Trying to fit in with the expectations of society is really hard and sometimes develops negative results. The author tries to offer techniques on how to surpass negative thoughts and build up the proper confidence that is needed in order grow up properly.

Another great book is entitled Battlefield of the Mind. This book was actually written by a Christian author named Joyce Meyer who has written a lot of other inspirational books as well. Although this is targeted to Christians, it is actually a great book for non Christians as well because of the insights that are given.

Now the basic premise of this book, aside from developing strong faith, would be to know how to get rid of negative thoughts. Although this book does not target the adolescents specifically, it does tell about how people in general can actually control thoughts that could bring down their self esteem. This is what makes the book very helpful for those males in their adolescent years.

One of the best of them all for males of this age would be one written by William Pollack. This piece of work is entitled Real Boy, Rescuing our Sons from Myths of Boyhood. Not only does the book contain insights from the author but also studies from real psychologists.

Now one of the main things that the author would focus on would be how the society perceive real men. In fact, this is actually one of the main reasons that boys in their adolescent age would actually experience a lot of self esteem problems. If they cannot reach the expectations that society has given to them, they will not feel worthy.

Now this kind of ancient mentality can be quite dangerous to the males of this generation because the author recounts that expectations are getting more and more. The author does encourage open communication between both the parent and the child so that the parent will know what is really in the head of the child. The author also encourages males to cry if things do get too much.
