By Freida Michael

Crime fiction is a literary genre that gives an imaginative or fictional version of the story, shows detection, the criminals and their motives. Just like other authors, most crime writers tend to think on the other side of the genre and create something new, different and unique for their readers. If you like to become a crime fiction writer, you have to weigh suggestions you hear and compare them to your own ideas.

Find a good direction based on the things you love about this genre, garnish your own story based on your style. It is much easier for you to write crime fiction based in the sixties especially if you are equipped with knowledge and background of the genre. Basically, these stories start with certain crimes. Define a mysterious or exciting scene such as a rape victim found dead in the bathroom or a government official shot dead in his birthday party.

Before you begin to write the whole plot, it is essential to determine the story of the scene. You also need to ask for the plot in order to come up with the reasons why they kill certain victims. If you also think about a certain place where you have never been before, be sure to visit the place so you can make better stories.

When it comes to the protagonist, you can choose between an investigator or a detective. However, putting some twists on their character is a perfect idea to make the story exciting. It is best to make the scenario close to the protagonist to raise an emotional risk. You can make the crime related to a close friend, loved ones in danger, or mysterious past of the protagonist.

Basically, this genre of story has 4 to 6 suspects. Some authors may also want o determine the story before starting the story. Others may also want to make sure that most criminals will be connected to the incident through good evidence. This will now the basis to identify the guilty or not guilty suspects.

It is also impossible for every writer to come up with a certain idea without sorting down such inspiration. There are actually some who want to visit actual killing scenes and investigate the crime of their own. Some only bring a notebook anywhere they go, so that they are able to write down their ideas.

When you write a novel, the discovery of the killing happens in the first chapter. This way, readers can identify whether the novel is exciting, emotional, violent, suspenseful or occult. If you are writing about what really happens before the killing incident, you can go back to the situation for the second chapter.

A lot of mystery authors prefer to select a perspective that hides information about the whole mystery as much as possible without bewildering the readers. Of course, research is really a must. Most mystery stories are intended for readers and not for criminals or agents. Actually, there are many information found in the library or even online sources.

No matter you end the novel, be sure that it can create a buzz to your readers. It is also best to state who is the primary suspect and the reason why he did the murder. This would be a good ending and for your readers to ask for more. If you want to publish your stories, you may contact a local publisher.
